Description form architect One Design studio:
Inspired by the history of architectural objects a group of designers from One Design studio created an interior concept that is reminiscent of Soviet Union schools and summer camps.
The Instinctools company office is based in a city center. The two story building has a unique characteristic, a green space with long standing pines. The trees surrounding the building evoke the summer camps so popular in this region while the location and plan of the building state that it was once an educational institution. This atmosphere perfectly matches the company values where game-based learning helps employees to grow professionally.
The color scheme of the materials used in the project references the school theme that includes colors of furniture and school uniforms used in the Soviet Union. The design of common areas has elements well known by employees from childhood and gives the theme of study, play, and youth.
The first floor has the reception area, cloakroom, break area, administration and big meeting rooms. Workspace and small meeting rooms are located on the second floor. The designers placed a kitchen, dining area, gym and lecture hall on the basement floor.
The reception area is next to a micro-kitchen with a comfortable seating area. The designers split these two zones using sliding mirror windows that combine these spaces into one when opened. It was a great design idea since this whole space can be used by employees for communication and afterwork fun activities.
The big meeting rooms from the first floor are located on the same axis as the main entrance so that guests can view the full potential of the building. This solution helped to make an impression of an open space and show the view of the courtyard from the hall.
Each office on the second floor can fit from 6 to 8 people. The main goal during floor planning was to come up with a solution that gives the impression of a wide space although people are located in smaller rooms. The courtyard-facing side of the building was divided into rooms that are connected by improvised enfilades: glass baffle plates that create the illusion of passage to adjacent rooms. These passages are next to the outer wall with windows that helped designers to visually make offices look bigger. It also allows employees to effectively communicate with each other although they are in different rooms. One more advantage of the passage next to windows that are facing the courtyard is the beautiful view of tree tops and natural light in the offices.
