Project description from design firms
White Night Apt was conceived from the outset as a short-term rental apartment, and we became involved in the project at its earliest stage, beginning with the selection of the property itself. What attracted us most was its strong potential for transformation.
The apartment bore the traces of multiple historical layers: wallpaper from different decades, fragments of decorative plasterwork, compact rooms, and a series of narrow corridors.
Because the apartment was intended for short-term stays, our goal was to create a space that offers guests a memorable aesthetic experience. While permanent residences are often driven by practicality, storage requirements, and everyday functionality, this project prioritizes atmosphere and emotional engagement.
Three small rooms were merged into a spacious kitchen-living area that accommodates dining, relaxation, and shared activities. A large sofa arrangement and projector create a flexible gathering space, while a corner balcony extends the living area outward.

We wanted to preserve evidence of the apartment’s original configuration. Rather than concealing the intervention, we highlighted the traces of removed walls on the ceiling, creating a subtle record of the building’s history.
The bedroom provides one of the project’s most distinctive experiences. A large bed is positioned at the center of the room, functioning almost as a sculptural object. The generous empty space surrounding it fosters a sense of calm, allowing visitors to disconnect from the intensity of contemporary life.
Decorative objects form an additional layer of storytelling throughout the interior. Each piece was carefully sourced from local flea markets and antique vendors, contributing character and a sense of continuity.
Located within one of the city’s historic neighborhoods, the apartment offers an experience that extends beyond the interior itself, allowing guests to engage with the architectural and cultural heritage of the surrounding urban fabric.
