A 70 m2 apartment opens a sky full of memory to commemorate an old era of Saigon
For those who love the beauty of old, love, sweetness, and warmth, they will surely love every little corner in this apartment with a breath of the 1960s and 70s Saigon.
Both the owners and the interior designer share the same love for the nostalgic sense of beauty of the old Saigon.
Therefore, this apartment was designed with the artistic significances imprinted on a whole generation. Each of every corner is picturesque, harmonious, and completed to every detail, thus they bring an unforgettable impression to the hearts of every visitor who has a chance to lay their eyes upon.
With a 4-month period of designing and construction, the apartment at last appears as a dreamy and delicate drawing of the magical past.
The apartment started from the similarity and understanding between the designer and the owner – that is Saigon with the strong and passionate love for it.
If Saigon was the inspiration for Madame Trac Thuy Mieu to write “Vong Sai Gon”, then interior designer Trung Hieu chose Saigon of the 1960s and 70s and earlier of the previous century to make a meaningful and artistic theme for the apartment.
The apartment that was originally handed over has been basically completed, and ready to be moved in. However, the designer persuaded the owners to accept to do what he wanted to “rebuild and innovate” some areas of the rooms and walls to justify the scale and create more suitable functional spaces.
With a modest area of only 70m2, the apartment is in a new urban area on the outskirts of the city center. The apartment comes with basic functional spaces with a lobby, a kitchen overlooking the balcony which also is the laundry area, dining area, shared toilet and 2 bedrooms, this is the “place to come back to” for a middle-aged married couple with their son who is studying abroad.
