Project description from design firms Dean Memegaga Design Studio
The residence of a young couple hopes to recreate the atmosphere of a desert movie within a small space, while also incorporating all necessary functions and an open feeling to meet their needs and high standards of taste. The original layout of two bedrooms and one living room was too cramped, so during the renovation, the partitions were removed, reorganizing the space into a rectangle with the TV, seating, and bed aligned on the same axis, and a storage room planned behind the wall.

Delineating Areas
The foyer floor is paved with water-polished stone to define a dust-removal area, connecting to the composite wood flooring in the kitchen. With the walls removed, kitchen cabinets and storage units serve as partitions, redrawing the walkway to allow for more flexible use of space.

Materials Symbolizing Spatial Transformation
In terms of colors, the dark melamine door panels of the kitchen cabinets form the darkest shade, transitioning to a light sand color on the window-side walls, echoing the spatial expansion from small to large. All interior cabinets are made of birch wood stained, while the ceilings and walls are painted in sand tones, ensuring durability while creating tonal contrast.

Minimalist Composition
Due to the limited space, two concealed doors are integrated into the TV wall surface divided by lines to downplay their presence. Additionally, iron shelves connect the wardrobe to an open display cabinet.
The cinematic design evokes a serene passage of time, with the aesthetics and functionality harmoniously aligned. The pursuit of tranquil beauty is persistently upheld.
