Project description from design firms Sofia Pavlova, KESON architectural bureau
The apartment of 120 sq.m. has become a comfortable living space for a married couple with a 3-year-old child. It was necessary to create a spacious entrance hall, an airy dining–living room with a private garden view, a functional kitchen with a large island, a master bedroom with private wardrobe and bathroom, a kid room also with a private bathroom, a home office and a number of auxiliary rooms such as a guest toilet, a laundry room, a pantry and a outwear wardrobe.
Our clients are the creators of the jewelry brand Liza Borzaya based in Moscow. They are the people of a perfect taste and the unique lifestyle. We immediately found a common language and working in team created a modern, functional, aesthetic interior, which was later filled with their own outstanding decor and art pieces.
On this project we faced the difficult challenge between the existing layout and the desired client`s life scenario. The previous owners of the apartment overplayed with the bizarre shapes and sharp corners. We faced a difficult task: to turn an elongated, dark apartment, cut by triangular areas and circular turns into a modern, bright space with functionally different zones for a comfortable family life.
The project was begun in summer 2022 and it took 4 months to complete the design and start the construction. But the clients all of a sudden came up with a new idea: to glaze the outdoor terrace and merge it with the inner space. Many months of hard work, approvals, discussions and we finally got the verdict from the managment company: to ban joining! In the autumn 2022, after a number of changes in the project, we started construction, which was completed by June 2023.
This project was the love at first sight! The concept is based on nuances that are equally valuable for both sides. It was important to make the space light and airy, visually break down the barrier of the walls and let the nature get into the interior. The layering of the composition, the voluminous texture of fabrics, natural motifs and the play of sunlight – all of these things created an incredible atmosphere and home feeling. We were lucky with our clients, because after a month of work we finally heard this very important phrase: “Do as you see it, we trust you”
The only thing that had to be taken into account was the collection of the art pieces that was destined to become the main accent of the future interior.
