Project description from design firms Arquitectura Rambla 9
In the quiet landscape of Consell, Cas Padrins stands as a testament to Mallorca’s rural heritage. This family possessió, a traditional country estate, was originally built in 1878 and has remained in the same family ever since. Now offered as an exclusive holiday rental, it invites guests to step into a place where time moves gently and the island’s traditions still resonate.
Carefully renewed with respect for its agricultural past, the house now welcomes guests to experience the serenity and authenticity of the Mediterranean lifestyle. The architecture reveals a dialogue between memory and modern comfort. Stone walls, limewashed surfaces, and wooden beams preserve the island’s spirit, while new interventions bring clarity, light, and a discreet sense of luxury.

The restoration sought not to transform but to continue, recovering original textures, restoring the rhythm of spaces, and integrating quiet systems of comfort and efficiency to serve modern life without disturbing its essence. Surrounded by generous land, a garden, and a pool shaded by an orchard, Cas Padrins remains deeply connected to its origins: a home shaped by family, landscape, and time. More than a retreat, it is a living memory reimagined for the present with quiet precision and timeless grace.
Our Studio
Since 1982, we have worked in the interplay between architecture and landscape, striving to balance human needs, aspirations, and the place.
Founded by José García-Ruiz Serra and continued by José GarcíaRuiz Verd, our architecture practice begins with observation: attending to the context to highlight its qualities, integrating the habitat into the landscape, and engaging in dialogue with nature without imposing.
Each project is born from the interaction between those who inhabit it and the place that welcomes them. In this dialogue, the essential is defined: the atmosphere. Architecture moves beyond being an object and becomes an aesthetic experience, a refuge, a quality of life.
We are drawn to the ordinary elevated to the extraordinary, the everyday transformed into emotion. We design honest, timeless, and sustainable spaces, where technology and tradition integrate unobtrusively, serving well-being.
Our work does not seek styles or ephemeral gestures, but a beauty born from inhabiting the lyrical singularity of the place, from contemplating and feeling the course of time with dignity.
We believe in architecture that belongs to its landscape, that protects, accompanies, and enhances human life.
Every project is a homage to the land that supports it, the culture that inspires it, and the people who inhabit it.
