Project description from design firms YourownHaus
During the process of building the nest that we named Bun Xoai, we spent a lot of time imagining cozy family scenes during dinner, with Bun and Xoai driving their toy cars around the house, and how good the family’s sleep time would be. Those feelings arose in the hearts of professionals like us from the very first days, and each day became clearer and more colorful, until the day you and I were able to return to our home and officially start a life like the one we have today.
Given the characteristics of an apartment where every room is arranged with a minimum usable area – making it impossible to expand much space due to the general structure of the building – the YourownHaus team of architects chose to retain most of the shared functional spaces. They also employed construction and design techniques to maximize the areas that make up the soul of the house such as the kitchen and dining area, where the family spends a lot of time gathering at the end of the day.
Drawing the greatest inspiration from Minimalist Style – minimalism in the spatial language and lifestyle – the apartment is designed in a minimalist interior style that is not only reflected in its aesthetic aspects but also serves as a representation of the homeowners’ way of living, their aesthetic thinking, and their intellectual outlook.
The design intention is not merely to simplify and moderate all elements in the space to the extreme, but to focus on choosing and investing in what is truly the best for living such as high-quality equipment, materials, accessories, as well as the finest finishing touch.
When everything becomes minimal, those special elements shine. This is also the core concept of YourownHaus throughout the process of creating the Bun – Xoai family’s home.
