Project description from design firms DA Bureau
The new DEPARTMENT 57 club space is located in a unique historical building and combines club and bar areas that function both unitedly as well as separately.
We developed distinctive, colourful, and unique visual styles for each space, using light and media art as our main tools.

AXONOMETRY
NOW
We were inspired by various natural phenomena that create complex lighting effects and sought to reproduce them in a minimalistic and modern way in the interior.
The main dance space is illuminated as well as bright and vibrant. At its centre there is a large glowing sphere located next to the DJ desk. It is surrounded by ‘lightning bolts’ that pierce the room, creating pulsating flashes of light synchronised with the music.
In contrast to the club, the bar space has a calm and relaxed atmosphere and can be associated with the Northern Lights effect: a chamber space with sparkling light. There is also a secret area of the bar, aka ‘gin’, which is a kind of ‘ice cave’ – a laboratory with unique cocktails. All these ideas inspired by nature were developed and realised together with YARKO Lighting Design Studio.
We believe that this concept will bring a completely new club experience, embarking each guest on a unique journey with every visit.
